Both Medicare Advantage and Drug plans require that you select and sign up / renew you coverage during the Annual Open Enrollment window. October 15th though December 7th. 

You may also sign up when your Medicare Part B first becomes effective.

This is Medicare Part C and it may include your Medicare drug coverage (Part D) as well as discounts on other services like Dental and Vision. These options are only available through private insurance carriers and have restricted PPO or HMO networks.

This is Medicare Part D which is  purchased through private insurance carriers and has many different plans options. Since each carrier covers different medications it's important to review the options annually.
